My teenage daughter Alice has been having lessons in Australia for the past 3/4 years. So on a recent stay in Tadley we booked in for a hack with Catherine at Pamber Green. We both found we had very little control of our horse and so promptly booked in for a lesson or two!!
The difference was amazing, Alice had so much more control and truly loved her time with Catherine. Our only complaint is that there is not a Catherine in Australia. xxx

Catherine is an amazing teacher, fabulous horsewoman and a really lovely lady.
Thanks to her after 35 years I finally took the plunge and bought my own. He has come from pamber green and is well mannered, responsive and a joy to own.
I will continue occassional lessons with Catherine as theres always room for improvement.
So if you have come here to have a look, do it, she is by far the best instructor in this county in my opinion.
Thanks you Catherine, Teddy is doing great and is adored and spoilt x

At aged 8/9, having read and seen Black Beauty and read other novels abouts riding - I had an image in my mind of what riding should be, and how amazing the connection with the horse must be. So I started having weekly lessons through to aged 13. I learnt to hold the reins short and still, kick the horse to make it move, pull the reins to make it stop, heels down, back straight etc etc etc ... it was uncomfortable and I always struggled. I never felt totally in control of the horse and therefore always slightly nervous. From 13 onwards I did regular hacks from riding schools to learn to canter (which I taught myself - cling on and pray!) and had convinced myself I could ride.

Now aged 27 I took on a loan ... and discovered that horses in the real world don't respond to riding school aids! I couldn't get her to move, she bucked all the time etc. I was getting really discouraged and about to give up when I stumbled onto Catherine's website. Everything she said resonated with what I thought horsemanship should be - so with nothing to lose I booked a lesson.

WOW. The first time I slowed the horse from a canter to a stop with my pelvic floor (who knew??!!) I nearly cried! I felt so in tune with the horse and FINALLY riding felt like I imagined in my childhood!! I regained my passion for riding and, thanks to Catherine, I am starting to understand horses more and more. She also re-taught me how to walk, rising and sitting trot and canter in 1 hour!! Amazing!

I will certainly continue my lessons with Catherine, and I can't recommend her enough.

It is hard work - prepare to get out of breath, sweaty and wake up the next day feeling like you've done 3 hours in the gym! But it is soooo worth it!

am ever grateful for Catherine for all the help she has offered for both me and my horse. I have a young horse and without Catherine I probably would have sold him because I was too green with horses even though I have had one since I was 10.
She is wonderful horsewoman and also a great riding teacher. She has the ability to tell people clearly how you can ride with the horse in harmony and how it´s more comfortable for both you and your horse. Previous riding teachers hasn´t been able to open up some things as well as she has and I have had several realizations on what I should actually do but no one has been able to tell it clearly.
If Catherine would ever keep a clinic in future, me and my horse would be first in queue to participateAnd if I have moved back to Finland I will travel back to UK and loan a horse or come as spectator...

Thank you Catherine for helping me regain my confidence and ride better than I ever have.
I would never have been able to share a horse as I do now without you.
I have gained a much greater understanding of what my horse feels when I ride and how to work in 'harmony'.

I would honestly recommend a lesson by Catherine to any rider - and definitely recommend trying a lesson by her first if you're wondering where to ride.

Before coming to Catherine for lessons I had tried another riding school, which was a mistake! I can totally relate to everything it says on this website about riding some horses at some larger riding schools - I didn't feel that I had control over the horse, I couldn't get them to listen to me, and I started to stop enjoying riding as I wasn't progressing (after just 5 or 6 lessons). So I came here to see if lessons with Catherine would be better.

Originally, I'd seen this website and actually decided not to come here straight away, but now I really wish I had done! Catherine is a really good teacher - she uses clear analogys and talks to you in a way that you can understand, so you can really feel how you should be riding the horse - and it's not too overwhelming, it's all very easy to take in. I learnt so much in my first lesson and it was good to actually do a proper rising trot that I felt in control of (I'm a beginner)!

If you're looking at this site and considering where to have a lesson with Catherine, I'd 100% recommend contacting her for a lesson!

Theres a lot writen here about people starting out learning with Catherine. I've been having regular lessons with her since last May and the transformation in my riding is amazing! I'm much more balanced and confident and ride much more gently than I used to. I feel real harmony with whichever horse I'm riding and this is all down to Catherines teaching. I have learnt so much from her and wouldnt hesitate to recommend her to anyone. She is fabulous

Just arrived home after my first lesson with Catherine. Wonderful. Hadn't ridden for 18 month previously and was slightly apprehensive that bad habits would hold me back but Catherine was exceptional! Thank you! All the comments below are completely true and I chuckled to see all the heels down tuition being thrown out the window, I too am a wrongfully heels down rider and I sympathise, it was the first thing she retaught me. Loved every minute of the lesson, supportive and informative!!
Thank you!
